Water
Wells on the Indian Brook property supply water for our irrigation system. The town of Hopkinton supplies water for the Indian Brook buildings.
Individual units
Typically, the shut-off valve for water to an individual unit is a red-handled lever located in the basement. The yellow-handled lever(s) located above the water heater controls water to the water heater only, not the entire unit.
Entire buildings
Each building has one water meter that accounts for water usage across all units in that building. The shut-off valve for water to an entire building is located in one of its individual units (see list below). Inside that unit, the shut-off valve is near the floor and has at least one lever. To turn off the water for that entire building, pull the applicable lever on the shut-off valve in that specific unit.
These units have the water shut-off valve for their respective buildings:
Leman 1, 5, 12, and 16
Doyle 1, 5, 9, and 16
Birchwood 1, 5, 12, and 16
Weybridge 4, 8, 9, and 13
Rosewood 4, 5, and 12
Lilac 3, 6, 10, and 14
Turnbridge 4, 8, 9, 13, and 17
Not all water shut-off valves are exactly the same, but this image shows an example of one water shut-off for an entire building.
